Multimedia Language Labs

The Adama University Multimedia Language Labs are computerized speech labs which support language teaching for students. These multimedia language labs present sound and video to enhance the student's communication skill. Students will have the opportunity to hear the native speaker's voice as well as movement and gesture related to the spoken language.

The state of the art multimedia language labs can accommodate 50 students in two rooms, 25 students in each room.

Students can use the lab after class as open-access-lab.

 

Supported features are:

  • It is interactive. Student's can record their own voice and playback the recording. Interact with each other and with the teacher.
  • Because of its versatility, the teacher can broadcast text, image, audio, video and integrated media depending on the need of the language class.
  • Ease usage of different applications such as word processor, PowerPoint, Internet, etc., and launching on student's computer.
  • Teacher intervention is possible via the teacher's console by controlling of student's computer and tracking of the student's work.
  • Moreover, it provides an independent learning system. Students may access the lab to use resources beyond the class.
